RHODES ISLAND

Rhodes is the capital of the Dodecanese and the fourth largest Greek island and is firmly one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. Island of intense contrasts, Rhodes harmoniously combines the medieval with the traditional element, the lacy beaches with pine-covered mountains, mountain villages with seaside settlements, archaeological places, medieval monuments and castles. The modern city of Rhodes, with its shopping center, large hotels, countless cafes, restaurants, clubs and traditional houses offer visitors unforgettable experiences. In the port of “Mandraki”, on two high pillars, there are the symbols of the island: two deer that according to a tradition, in the place of the deer in the harbor, stood the Colossus. At the end of the harbor, stands the small fortress of “Agios Nikolaos”, built in 1464. The treasures that hide this Greek island are many and invaluable.
